What
makes Friends First different from other similar
agencies?
Friends First is a unique,
new concept to the social and dating scene.
Friends First is not a dating agency or a
matchmaking service. We simply do not believe
anyone can find their partner based on a computerized
profile of their personality. Friends First
is an active social club geared towards people
– who are content with their lives –
but would like to be more socially active,
make new friends, connect with similar people
– and for some - potentially meet someone
special. This concept is different because
there is no pressure, no matchmaking and no
awkward blind dates for those particular members.
We believe if chemistry happens – it
happens.
Friends First also welcomes
those people that a traditional “singles”
group would turn away. You do not necessarily
have to be single to join Friends First. Yes
– the majority of our members are single
and many are open to meeting that special
someone however; we do have
members that simply want to meet other local
people, and take advantage of the active lifestyle
we provide. We welcome all mature
people including singles, new comers to the
city and even couples who are just wanting
to meet new friends.
Friends First also adheres
to a monitored confidentiality and moral standard
code. Unacceptable, derogatory or questionable
behavior, both on our website and during our
activities, is not tolerated. Those who cannot
abide by reasonable, adult behavior are asked
to leave the club and their memberships are
terminated.

Why
should I use Friends First as a way to meet
people in my area?
Friends First offers something
for everybody. Whether you are an outgoing
individual wanting to make new friends, a
single in search of someone special, or a
new comer to the Okanagan, we offer several
ways to get involved and meet new people.
Members are not required to participate in
any activities they do not wish to however;
they are there for those who would like to
be more active. We schedule three to six events
per week, some are very active events (skiing,
biking), and some are more on the social side
(karaoke, dance lessons, etc). We strive to
accommodate all tastes and activity levels.

What
can Friends First offer me if I am not interested
in participating in group social activities?
Members who do not wish
to participate in group socials are of course,
not required to do so. These members may use
our internal website to view other Friends
First Members Profiles, send internal e-mails,
chat and keep up to date with our newsletters.
Those members solely looking
for love interests, may also have Friends
First arrange lunch, coffee, and dinners,
providing that both parties are of course
consenting.
Please keep in mind: Friends
First does not require members to post pictures
or detailed profiles of themselves on our
website. We simply offer this service for
those who wish to have this capability.

When
someone emails me, where does the email go
and how do I respond?
When a member sends you
a note, it goes straight into your onsite
message Inbox. We then send an email to your
personal email address to let you know that
it's there.
To read the note, simply
login to the site and go to your Inbox. If
you decide to write back, simply click "reply",
write your own note and send away. Your note
will go straight into the member's onsite
Inbox, and we'll let them know it's there
with an email to their personal email address.
All communications with
other members stay onsite so that you never
have to give out any personal information
until you feel completely ready. Then when
you are, you can exchange phone numbers and
even meet in person.

How

the office either by phone, e-mail or

yourself, however they will need to be activated
by administration at the office.

How
do I hide my profile?
To hide your profile, select
"No" for the option "Other
members can see when I'm online?" on
the "Edit Profile" page . Keep in
mind, however, that members who are most active
on the site keep their profile visible in
all places because it ups their chances of
connecting with people. And you never know,
someone special may be looking for you and
never get to find you if your profile is hidden.

What do I do if I am having trouble opening the online calendar or viewing other member profiles?
If you experience difficulty opening the Friends First Online Calendar, or
member profiles, you should first check your Internet Settings. If your
computer is set to block pop-ups, you may have to adjust your Internet
settings to view parts of the website. If you are uncertain how to adjust
your computer's settings we suggest you contact your Internet provider.
Please also remember that you do not need to own - or use - a computer to be a member with Friends First.
